Switched book review

SwitchedSwitched by Cassie Mae
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Switched
Switched is about a college student named Kayla, who has had a crush on a boy, Talon, since she was very young. Talon is everything she wants in a boyfriend, smart, athletic, easy on the eyes, there is just one problem though, he is dating her best friend, Regan. Kayla is convinced that he is dating the wrong girl so she teams up with Talon’s best friend Wesley, who is in love with Regan. Together they set out to make their love interests notice them, anyway they can. However, the friends end up realizing that sometimes you don’t always see what is right in front of you.
Pros: The writing style was different; it reads more like how you would think in your head and less like long descriptions.
I usually don’t like these kinds of “interruptions” in the story but for this book it worked very nicely, and let you get inside detail to what is going on in Kayla’s head and why she thinks the way she does. It was a very light and easy to read.

Cons: The story is about college students, however it had a high school feel. The main character seemed clueless and shallow, and I found myself shouting at her.

Despite the predictability of the book, I still found the book hard to put down, I read it very quickly. It was a nice light escape from reality. The whole thing was very cute and romantic! It was like watching your favorite romantic comedy.
